Cooling Tech

This project addressed a real-world challenge originating from Saudi Arabia, where daily life is shaped by extreme heat and humidity. Its goal was to design and develop a cooling system that could be integrated into traditional clothing, helping wearers stay cool and comfortable throughout the day.

Project description

The project’s primary goal is to design and develop a cooling system that can be incorporated into clothing. This system is intended to help wearers remain cool and comfortable during everyday activities without compromising the garment’s functionality, appearance or cultural significance. Within the project, the engineering team is responsible for the technical development of the cooling system. Afterward, students from Summa Fashion design the garments that will house the technology.

Project results

Several prototypes were conceptualized and prototyped: Aeroheart, EvapoSpine, OrigaPump, CoolJacket, and Plooicape. Different cooling technologies were prototyped and integrated into fashionable garments.
