Glow 2025: Garden of Flowers

Garden of Flowers

The goal of this project is to design a light art concept that goes beyond decoration by using light as a medium for storytelling and interaction. The installation should engage visitors physically, emotionally, or socially, while remaining inclusive, safe, and compliant with GLOW’s technical and environmental requirements. In doing so, the
project aims to reinforce Eindhoven’s identity as a city of innovation, design, and light.

Project description

The starting point of our project was the prototype of Garden of Flowers delivered by the previous BeCreative Glow team. We gained insight into the design concept, we improved the design (focussing on robustness and esthetics) and we made it come to life at the Glow festival in Eindhoven.

Project results

The final ‘Garden of Flowers’ installation was successfully realized and presented during the GLOW Festival 2025. The improved design proved to be more robust and weather-resistant, allowing the installation to function reliably throughout the festival period. Aesthetic refinements enhanced the visual impact of the work, particularly during nighttime operation, and contributed to a more immersive experience for visitors.
Audience interaction played a central role in the installation. Visitors were observed engaging with the work both individually and in groups, often spending time exploring the light patterns and sharing the experience socially. Feedback from visitors and organizers indicated that the installation was approachable, visually appealing, and aligned well with the overall theme and quality standards of GLOW.
Overall, the project met its objectives by delivering an interactive light artwork that combined technical feasibility, artistic expression, and public engagement, while fitting within GLOW’s safety and sustainability requirements.
